PUGNATORIUS employment cooperation partnership

PUGNATORIUS employment cooperation partnership

PUGNATORIUS Ltd. is well known in Thailand’s legal industry for regular publications on complex legal issues, conference presentations at international events, and a long-standing reputation since the law firm was founded in 2012. If you have not heard of PUGNATORIUS before, this job opportunity will not be suitable for you.

Unlike as in a mega law firm environment, it is the firm’s policy to employ its lawyers on the full scope of legal and commercial aspects without restricting to particular segments or limited practice areas. This enables swift and comprehensive hands-on experiences and superior know-how regarding corporate and investment laws, real estate acquisitions and developments, as well as domestic tax advice and cross-border tax structuring.

The legal team works in a cooperative and collegial working environment without Thai-style hierarchy. Based on sophisticated software solutions and modern information technology systems, all work products and client’s communications are rigidly reviewed to assure consistency with the firm’s legal conceptions and high-end quality.

Working environment: The law firm’s working language is English. Night shifts and weekend work are not expected. No age restrictions apply and legal career break returners are welcome. Salary and benefits comply with market conditions. Start of employment can be immediately or at a later point in time.

Applications should include a curriculum vitae or resume, accompanied by a cover letter outlining the candidate’s interest in and suitability for the position. All applications and expressions of interest will be treated confidentially, being reviewed only by the Managing Director.

Even when the candidate does not meet the expectations, the law firm is keen to keep in contact and evaluate alternative cooperation opportunities now or later.

A wealth of opportunities for employment, cooperation, partnership

PUGNATORIUS Ltd. is a Bangkok-based specialist provider of bespoke transactional legal and tax advice in the corporate and property legal and taxation industry sectors. The law firm assists and advises mainly foreign clients on highly complex legal assignments and tax structuring projects. “PUGNATORIUS” is a registered trademark under the laws of Thailand. The law firm uses its second Thai trademarked brand “Justinian Lawyers” for ventures and assignments outside of Thailand.

#1. Unhappy with your Thai lawyer job? The renowned business law and tax office is continuously looking for motivated, energetic, and entrepreneurial lawyers with strong academic records and diverse skill-set to join the firm’s legal practice – as a junior legal consultant or a mid-level associate lawyer. As a precondition to start working, a Thai junior lawyer needs to be familiar with a starter kit of legal know-how regarding Thailand’s corporate, investment, and property legislation. The list of specific requirements is available on request.

#2. Eat what you kill: PUGNATORIUS Ltd. offers senior lawyers a long-term partnership to provide professional services under the PUGNATORIUS brand, utilizing its awareness level on Thailand’s legal markets, the professional firm’s resources and infrastructure including comprehensive website, and last but not least the personal reputation of the managing director as an experienced German lawyer and tax advisor. Under such a partnership, the high-end level of professional services and the overall law firm policies have to be observed and maintained. The professional turn-over is shared under an internationally recognized eat-what-you-kill scheme. Such an arrangement is not deemed to be an employment contract but requires businessman mentality. Also, the law firm would highly appreciate discussing with a well-coordinated team of Thai lawyers the possibility to join the law firm as a joint venture to continue successful professional work with existing clients in a more flexible, modern, and profitable business environment. #eatwhatyoukill

#3. Chinese speaking lawyers in Thailand and China: The law firm is interested to employ or cooperate with Mandarin-speaking Thai lawyers or Chinese lawyers abroad to further develop the firm’s Chinese-focused legal practice. The Chinese impact on Thailand’s investments, legislation, and economic prosperity can hardly be overestimated. The law firm welcomes any form of cooperation to participate in these developments.

#4. Foreign qualified professionals: Foreign qualified lawyers and other professionals, interested in working with the law firm in Bangkok, should have a detailed and feasible business concept how to successfully develop their (legal) practice under the PUGNATORIUS brand, letterhead, and infrastructure. Lateral entrants are highly welcome.

#0. No interns: It is the law firm’s strict policy, not to employ short-term interns, trainees, and law clerks. Applications to spend part of the legal traineeship (“Referendarstation”) with the law firm, are rejected. No exception made.

#5. Foreign consultancy groups: The law firm welcomes cooperation with foreign-based business consulting providers. A world of opportunities to support and assist investment projects on a bigger scale. Applications must contain the specific business concept, the markets to be developed by the cooperation, and the general form of the cooperative venture. General inquiries as to whether employment is possible will not be answered in any detail.

#6. New offices: Moreover, the law firm is interested in discussing the establishment of new PUGNATORIUS offices in other business locations in Thailand, ASEAN and beyond. Supported and monitored from the Bangkok headquarters, its brand and website, server and e-mail network, marketing and legal services, and linked by the dedicated team collaboration software. More than a franchise and under the same high-end quality standards and strict policies.

#7. Remote work: Finally, the law firm offers to experienced professionals the opportunity to work remotely with the Bangkok head office. State-of-the-art software supports such cooperation. Details on request.
