PPW: The post-pandemic world in Thailand

“It’s the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine”

Despite all the drama, the pandemic will sooner or later be a thing of the past. Even the pitchest night is followed by morning. The world may have changed but towards a better one. There is no time for sinking feelings.  Coronavirus is an accelerator of evolution and will turbocharge industry transformation. Preparing for the new era as early as possible is a wise decision because a crisis is a terrible thing to waste. It is currently open, whether the massive global reset will return to normal. The economic, social, political, environmental, and scientific paradigms and doctrines might shift into a new era. #postpandemicworld

The new normal might be unchanged. Thai co-shareholders and partners cooperate in investment structures that give them certain rights with the informal agreement not to utilize such rights. They remain silent instead of vigorously exercising and enforcing their rights under Thai law. This applies to new projects, but also to long-standing foreign investment in industries, real estate and people based on flimsy contracts. Under the aforementioned assumption, there is no need to strengthen existing structures and make them fit for the new era. However, it is open whether such an assumption is justified.

Projections and forecasts for the post-pandemic world: When a deep crisis ends, the actions that are taken depend on the ideas that are lying around. On this website, we try to give an outlook on meaningful plans and investment projects. This outlook is to be updated and expanded continuously so that it is worthwhile to ask for the latest status.

A look beyond the moment – before-Corona (BC) and after-Corona (AC)

Vertical farming: The pandemic is the hour of birth for a large number of innovations that have not yet established themselves on the market. These include vertical farming technologies. Now that international and national supply chains have proven to be fragile, the short distance from farm to fork is becoming increasingly important. Vertical farming with the possibility of producing vegetables and fruit in an office building, home office or at least in the immediate vicinity will quickly develop into a viable alternative to today’s agricultural system. The next step is the transition from vertical farming to agribusiness or farm factory business. Details at “From vertical farming to agrifactory ventures“.
